Sentiment of the week: “Make up a story... For our sake and yours forget your name in the street; tell us what the world has been to you in the dark places and in the light. Don't tell us what to believe, what to fear. Show us belief's wide skirt and the stitch that unravels fear's caul.” ― Toni Morrison, The Nobel Lecture In Literature, 1993
Here’s what is currently inspiring us: Little orchids flower beds that bloom all at the same time, the connection that comes from conversations with your girlfriends, this jacket, getting our protein in, writing for the sake of writing before our children wake up, giving ourselves the opportunity to see a different perspective, the sound of rain drops pitter pattering onto the windows of your car, hair wash day, pampering our lips all day long, rereading the poetry of T.S. Elliot, collecting vintage Vogue (or Playboy!) magazines, prioritizing energy giving activities vs. energy draining activities, monitoring your inner thoughts with grace during your luteal phase, thinking about the idea of potentially getting into collecting vintage watches (or just looking at photos of them), this belt, the gentle rise and fall of a toddler’s chest while sleeping, learning a new language, accepting the season of life you are in; whatever that season may be.
What we are consuming this week:
Brand of the week: Completedworks; a brand seeped in craft & creativity, design & imagination, architectural accents & fantastical feelings. Known for being experimental and navigating what is seen and what is not seen, Completedworks brings you jewelry and homeware that is not only elevated but built with sustainable practices. For the design-forward woman or man who craves a point-of-view and a soul from a brand. On our wishlist: this ear cuff, these earrings, and these wine glasses.

Artist of the week: The ethereal, whimsical, societal, and deeply imaginative worlds of Danielle Kosann. Each of her pieces is cinematic in nature and captures a zoomed out perspective of social gatherings, communal spaces, and artistic endeavors by us and humans. Spacial, observatory in nature, and at the core a social display of large gatherings of human interaction. You can follow Danielle Kosann’s work here.

Ritual to implement: Pausing before responding in reactive moments. Breathing before speaking. Considering before regurgitating. Being intentional with your words.
Place to daydream about: The Palazzo Talìa, a member of the Small Luxury Hotels Around the World, is as rich in historical anecdotes as it is in luxurious corners. Designed by Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, this Roman hotel has cinematic roots - known for being the movie set of numerous classics - and historic roots as a 16th-century building that once housed the Collegio Nazareno. Spiritual insight of the week: “When you go out into the woods, and you look at trees, you see all these different trees. And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them are evergreens, and some of them are whatever. And you look at the tree and you allow it. You see why it is the way it is. You sort of understand that it didn’t get enough light, and so it turned that way. And you don’t get all emotional about it. You just allow it. You appreciate the tree. The minute you get near humans, you lose all that. And you are constantly saying ‘You are too this, or I’m too this.’ That judgment mind comes in. And so I practice turning people into trees. Which means appreciating them just the way they are.” ― Ram Dass

Home of the week: The Mexico City home of ceramicist Stellah De Ville. A home rich with character; tile flooring, crown molding, expansive ceilings. A home that finds the perfect balance between minimalism, details, color, and space. Photographed by Kate Perry. Featured in Domino.

Nostalgic for: When a year felt like forever; a vast increment of time that expanded and expanded and expanded within the framework of our childhood.
Question to ask at the dinner table this week: If you were to build your dream home, what would it look like?
Question to ask yourself this week: Where can I subtract worry and add more joy?
Have a beautiful week. Until next Sunday.
Sincerely,
The REVUE Team
