Sunday Inspiration: Volume 2.4

For the most interesting woman in the room; designed to bring more depth, intention, and luxury into your week

Sentiment of the week: “Before a dream is realized, the Soul of the World tests everything that was learned along the way. It does this not because it is evil, but so that we can, in addition to realizing our dreams, master the lessons we’ve learned as we’ve moved toward that dream. That’s the point at which most people give up. It’s the point at which, as we say in the language of the desert, one 'dies of thirst just when the palm trees have appeared on the horizon.” ― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

Here’s what is currently inspiring us: Asking for and taking the time that you need, hot showers where you let your mind endlessly run, warm water with lemon and apple cider vinegar first thing in the morning, sunsets that take over the entire landscape, this face mask, the rosy cheeks of a toddler, long and deep afternoon naps, journaling and journaling and journaling, friends that lift your spirits, midday meditations, this purse, reading books instead of watching television, the deep healing of a massage, a head-to-toe print look the power of rolling your shoulders down your back, warm tea, a deep sense of knowing who you are, wearing the color brown.

What we are consuming this week:

Brand of the week: Olive Atelier. What started as drop collections of objects with old souls promoted on Instagram - think terra cotta pots and cement vases galore - has since expanded into a vast warehouse storefront in Los Angeles, an online shop, and a digital audience of over 600k. For those who adore found objects and have an affinity towards the Mediterranean or Farmhouse aesthetic, you will find your next one-of-a-kind home piece at Olive Atelier. On our wishlist: this beauty, this piece, and this showstopper.

Artist of the week: AOTH is a multidisciplinary artist who creates dream-like paintings. “Very much like a french movie, there is always a piece of me living in these paintings and through my work, I hope people can experience the existence of emotions and embrace their lost time," - AOTH. Her work can be found at Tappan Collective.

Ritual to implement: Taking yourself on a day date; to a museum, to a bookstore, to a fine dining establishment, to the sea.

Place to daydream about: In a small village in Portugal lives Christian Louboutin’s first hotel: Vermelho. A hotel that encapsulates La Vie en Rouge and a medley of European references and artistry – from it’s surrounding Portuguese influence within the village of Melides to Louboutin’s French and Egyptian heritage influences to Italian sculpture and artistry. Vermelho holds many truths into one experience. It is tranquil. It is luxurious, maximalist, delicate, and eccentric. It is a reprise and an oasis. It is old heritage and new openings. It is covered in artistry, celebrated in creativity. It is the European, off-the-beaten-path, cozy and yet luxurious stay that doesn’t compromise on culture. Enter into Christian Louboutin’s state-of-mind on vacation; a state-of-mind we never knew we desired access to. A state-of-mind we cannot wait to encapsulate during our Vermelho stays.

Spiritual insight of the week: “Today, I’m talking to that part of you who yearns for more. The part of you who knows exactly what you want beyond all else. To that part of you who effortlessly believes that anything is possible, and that it’s possible in an instant. I’m talking to that part of you who longs to break right on through that self-imposed ceiling your mind has created out of fear, lack, should, and could. To smash and shatter it into a billion little pieces. I’m talking to that part of you who longs, who dreams, who dances, who wishes. To the part of you that cheers, that laughs, that leaps, that bounds. To that part of you who truly wants the best for others because it deeply knows that there is more than enough to go round. I’m talking to that part of you who knows what you want and the exact next step to take to get it. To that part of you who knows you’re not broken and isn’t the slightest bit interested in perpetuating the story that says it’s so. To that part of you who knows the way and longs to guide the rest of you back home. Today, that’s the part of you I’m talking to. And I’m asking it to step forward and lead the way.” ― Rebecca Campbell, Light is the New Black: A Guide to Answering Your Soul's Callings and Working Your Light

Home of the week: A 1970s home that is part treehouse, part beach home belonging to designer Catherine Wong. Originally built by architect John Haag in 1972. Located in Northern California. Photography by William Jess Laird. Featured in Architectural Digest.

Nostalgic for: CDs and all of the mixtapes we used to burn for our loved ones

Question to ask at the dinner table: What was something you saw that someone did this week that inspired you?

Question to ask yourself this week: Where are my emotions leading the show versus my highest

alignment?

Have a beautiful week. Until next Sunday.

Sincerely,

The REVUE Team
