So what are you going to do about it? You can't live life and you can't leave it. - Joni Mitchell

Sentiment of the week: “What do you think an artist is? An imbecile who only has eyes, if he is a painter, or ears if he is a musician, or a lyre in every chamber of his heart if he is a poet, or even, if he is a boxer, just his muscles? Far from it: at the same time he is also a political being, constantly aware of the heartbreaking, passionate, or delightful things that happen in the world, shaping himself completely in their image. How could it be possible to feel no interest in other people, and with a cool indifference to detach yourself from the very life which they bring to you so abundantly? No, painting is not done to decorate apartments. It is an instrument of war.” ― Pablo Picasso
Here’s what is currently inspiring us: Hotels that transport you into another world that you never need to leave the parameters to experience a cultural experience, lyrics that hit that tender chord that keeps itself hidden from your daily emotional experiences, paintings of flowers and other still live objects, choosing to believe it is all going to work out instead of succumbing to the mind’s narrative of fear and safety, stopping to appreciate the small details of beauty that exist within a home, within a space, within a building, within a forest, curating a selection of books and decor and furniture that you feel deeply creative around, getting yourself out of your comfort zone and into something more funky and something more unique, iced coffee on a hot day, wondering if you are ever going to meet your muse of inspiration again and then finding her in small doses and knowing once again that you will emerge and you will breathe new life into something yet again, loving the prospect of the future in all of its unknowns, the utter adoration and obsession with accent chairs - vintage, new, or otherwise, the poignant lyrics of Joni Mitchell, eating fresh fruit everyday in the summer.
What we are consuming this week:
Brand of the week: Erdem Spring Resort 2026 is both aesthetically historical and structurally modern. Suitable for those with a strong design point-of-view that also love an embellishment that does not air on the side of too loud. Slightly goth, slightly Rococo, slightly romantic, slightly bold, deeply feminine. To view Erdem's entire Spring Resort 2026 collection, click here.

Artist of the week: Seiichi Hayashi is a visionary Japanese illustrator and manga artist whose work evokes a dreamy stillness — a poetic interplay between pop culture, minimalism, and emotional depth. Known for Red Colored Elegy, his illustrations feel like silent films rendered in ink: fleeting, melancholic, and deeply romantic. Hayashi’s art does not shout — it lingers, asking the viewer to slow down, to feel, to remember. To view more of Seiichi Hayashi’s work, click here.

Ritual to implement: Putting on a song that your body can’t refuse to dance to. Allowing yourself to feel the joy of dancing alone; the joy of dancing unwatched; the joy of being in your joy.
Place to daydream about: MIRA Earth Studios is a haven tucked in the Valle de Guadalupe — where brutalist architecture meets poetic stillness under the desert sun. Every detail feels intentional: raw textures, grounding rituals, a reverence for slowness. It is just as much an homage to modernity aesthetics as it is a return to nature. To book a stay at MIRA Earth Studios, click here.

Personal insight of the week: “The mind must be given relaxation—it will rise improved and sharper after a good break. Just as rich fields must not be forced—for they will quickly lose their fertility if never given a break—so constant work on the anvil will fracture the force of the mind. But it regains its powers if it is set free and relaxed for a while. Constant work gives rise to a certain kind of dullness and feebleness in the rational soul.” — Seneca, On Tranquility of Mind
What’s on our wishlist: Marianna Cardigan by CLYQUE
Reordering this week: Roma Heirloom Tomato Hand Soap by Flamingo Estate
Home of the week: Designed by Nate van der Ende which launched his interior design career.

Nostalgic for: When physical magazines were our main form of content consumption - allocated to a once-a-month indulgence.
Questions to ask at the dinner table:
If your life were a painting, what would the central theme or image be?
What symbol, word, or mantra guides you in challenging times?
What does freedom feel like to you, and how do you create it in your life?
Question to ask yourself this week: Where am I rushing and controlling the timeline of my life?
Have a beautiful week. Until next Sunday.
Sincerely,
Gabrielle Scout
