Sunday Inspiration: Volume 2.22
The most interesting woman in the room.

Sentiment of the week: “Does such a thing as 'the fatal flaw,' that showy dark crack running down the middle of a life, exist outside literature? I used to think it didn't. Now I think it does. And I think that mine is this: a morbid longing for the picturesque at all costs.” ― Donna Tartt, The Secret History
Here’s what is currently inspiring us: Quick moments of laughter that are unexpected but feel so good, starting a new chapter, luxury soap, Mid-Century Modern furniture, moss green as an accent color, this book forever, the purity of a toddler conversation, looking out onto the sea, journaling first thing in the morning, cooking yourself a romantic dinner, afternoon matcha lattes, taking a walk with a friend over a phone call catch up, having an outfit stop your scroll, a trip to the bookstore, putting art museums on your travel list, the cure of a blowout, revisiting the music you listened to as a teenager, the future promise of a vacation.
What we are consuming this week:
Brand of the week: There are very few collections that stand the test of time - becoming more and more valuable as the decades pass, imprinted within the cultural zeitgeist. Tom Ford for Gucci in the 90s was an era that is easy to revisit and draw inspiration from. When pulling our favorite images from this iconic moment in fashion history, it is hard not to fall completely and utterly in love with how Tom Ford balanced the minimalism of the nineties with the glamour of Gucci. It was as if he combined quiet luxury with in your face decadence. A balance that is truly a paradox and yet works beautifully within his creations - and always with a hint of sex appeal in the most unpredictable of ways.

Artist of the week: Carrie Mae Weems is a photographer - but more than that, she bears witness to history; specifically concerned with the historical complexities of race, gender, class, and identity. Best known for her break though series, The Kitchen Series, where she staged and starred in a fictional drama captured through a series of photographs, her work is both powerful and emotionally formative. Ritual to implement: Opening the blinds first thing in the morning and getting direct sunlight. Walking outside and breathing a round of three deep breaths of fresh air. Knowing that inside is not all there is.
Place to daydream about: What was once a former soap factory then turned private mansion is now home to a 44-room boutique hotel in the South of France. With both traditional Southern France landscapes and a hint of Art Deco within the decor, Château de Théoule is where you go to melt in history and peace and luxury. A day by the sea, indeed. Book your stay here.

Personal insight of the week: “To be happy with yourself in the present moment while maintaining a dream of your future is a grand recipe for manifestation. When you feel so whole that you no longer care whether “it” will happen, that’s when amazing things materialize before your eyes. I’ve learned that being whole is the perfect state of creation. I’ve seen this time and time again in witnessing true healings in people all over the world. They feel so complete that they no longer want, no longer feel lack, and no longer try to do it themselves. They let go, and to their amazement, something greater than they are responds—and they laugh at the simplicity of the process.” ― Joe Dispenza, You Are the Placebo: Making Your Mind Matter
What’s on our wishlist: Cate Bag by Khaite
Reordering this week: Toning Pads by Barefaced
Home of the week: Home of jazz pianist and composer Dave Brubeck, located in Connecticut. Designed by David Thorne.

Nostalgic for: When social media was just comprised of your real life friends. When the internet was an additional social space for the people in your life. When the photos you took were just shown to the people that actually knew you.
Questions to ask at the dinner table:
If you could collaborate with any artist or visionary, living or dead, who would it be?
What symbol, word, or mantra guides you in challenging times?
Who in your life pushes you to grow in the best way possible?
Question to ask yourself this week: Where are you not allowing yourself to be happy?
