The Interesting Woman by REVUE

Sentiment of the week: “Sleep felt productive. Something was getting sorted out. I knew in my heart—this was, perhaps, the only thing my heart knew back then—that when I'd slept enough, I'd be okay. I'd be renewed, reborn. I would be a whole new person, every one of my cells regenerated enough times that the old cells were just distant, foggy memories. My past life would be but a dream, and I could start over without regrets, bolstered by the bliss and serenity that I would have accumulated in my year of rest and relaxation.” ― Ottessa Moshfegh, My Year of Rest and Relaxation
Here’s what is currently inspiring us: Lunar eclipse transformations, stepping into our most elevated self in this exact moment, the hunt of scoring a good designer item on resale, buying fresh flowers for yourself weekly, waking up early and facing the day on your terms, a girl’s night out, devoting yourself to your space, reading Haruki Murakami in bed, celebrating the small wins, taking the first steps to become an art collector, getting a blowout just because, allowing poignant emotions to catalyze your future, the power of a heeled boot, writing and writing and writing and reading and reading and reading, an afternoon matcha latte, listening to podcasts that educated on niche topics, taking daily long walks outside, the continuous pursuit of the capsule wardrobe.
What we are consuming this week:
Book: The Tell by Amy Griffin
Brand of the week: JUJU VERA transports you into a different era; one where adornment, heritage, and luxury converge. At JUJU VERA you can find fine jewels, sculpted metals, and objects that pay homage to founder Julia’s Greco-Roman roots but that are elegantly infused with modernity. As you peruse through JUJU VERA’s pieces, it is as if you are rummaging through a chest found in the corner of an Art Deco mansion or a shoebox found in the closet of a Mediterranean home. JUJU VERA’s point of view roots you into the nostalgic romanticization of the past while pulling you poignantly into the now. We might just be ardently in love. On our wishlist: this pendant, this lighter case, these earrings.

Interesting Woman of the week: Maggie Sellers: How to Be Hot, Smart, & Rich

She’s hot. She’s smart. She’s rich.
That much we know.
But the magnetic allure of Maggie Sellers? That is a more subtle yet complex answer to pinpoint.
First, there is her beauty which is just as striking in person as it is behind a camera. Then there is the effortless energy she exudes on TikTok that we all admire; as if creating content was a graceful yet dramatic ballet that she has mastered. And, of course, you can’t forget the valiant factor that she is disrupting and standing up for women in business with the smarts and expertise that outlive the boundaries of our own knowledge.
But there is…something else.
As I sit on her sprawling white couch in the middle of her bright and roomy Beverly Hills apartment, I look at the woman who we all desperately want to be like (there, I said it) wondering what it is beyond the hotness, the smartness, the richness that truly expands and moves the busy life that belongs to Maggie Sellers.
You see, we all know the story: Maggie Sellers immigrated here from Canada, called off her engagement, spent months in a chamber of self-discovery, soared in numbers on TikTok, released an old skin and stepped into a hotter, smarter, richer version of herself, grew a holy grail newsletter, traveled the world, entered into the healthiest relationship she has ever been in, and has been fighting to make investment dollars more accessible to female founders since, as she will repeat over and over again until every single one of us knows the stat, “82% of consumer spend is controlled by women but women-owned businesses only receive 2% in venture capital dollars.”
That is the story of Hot Smart Rich: the Maggie who was creating such an impact in the business world that she decided to show her face and document it along the way online; being the face for a brand that is separate from her because, as she so deliciously says, “I love liquidity.”
But then there is another Maggie. A Maggie who bets on herself time and time again, who walks away from security in pursuit of her alignment, who is, at this point, offended by the backhanded compliments of people being surprised at how smart she is (“I thought you were just a model” is one she gets often), who is tired of being underestimated, who is shocked at just how often she is misunderstood.
I wanted to get to know that Maggie.

Artist of the week: Jiieh G Hur has a way of creating almost effortless, almost weightless pieces that simultaneously create a more substantial impact for the observer. Her pieces from her 2023 Works Made With Paper collection specifically capture something so light yet so lasting. It is almost as if the works below are emblematic of the unbearable lightness of being. For more information on Jiieh G Hur’s works including her paintings, sculptures, and exhibitions, click here.

Ritual to implement: When you feel overwhelmed - as if you cannot squeeze another task into another minute of the day; as if there are no more moments left to complete all of the things you have deemed yourself important to complete - you must pause and meditate. During the days where you feel as if you have no time - you must pause and meditate. In the moments where you cannot afford to pause for another second - you must pause and meditate. Recognizing that urgency and business and lack of time are self-imposed constructs. It is during those chaotic internal moments that you must meditate. If not, time will run the show forevermore.

Spiritual insight of the week: “To truly feel alive, you must first understand that life is not a destination but a flow—an ever-moving current that invites you to surrender and dance within it. Too often, we anchor ourselves to the shorelines of fear and control, mistaking safety for stability. But aliveness is not found in the stillness of the shore; it resides in the courage to let go and trust the river of your intuition. Begin by listening to the subtle whispers of your heart, the pull of your curiosity, and the rise of joy in unexpected moments. These are not accidents; they are invitations to step deeper into your truth. The journey of aliveness requires peeling away the layers of external expectations to uncover your raw, untamed essence. It is not about adding more to your life but about subtracting the masks that no longer serve you. This is where liberation begins—not in perfection but in the sacred messiness of being wholly yourself. When you honor the rhythm of your soul, you become a vessel for something greater than yourself. You don't just live—you come alive.” - The Guide to Becoming Alive, Flamingo Estate

Home of the week: This villa has captured our soul, stopped us in our tracks, alluded to our future selves. Despite the fact that we do not know its location, owners, or designer (it was found deep within the wells of Substack), we do know it’s energy, it’s intention, and it’s beauty. From the minimalistic decor to the soaring ceilings to the wooden paneled walls. It is both historically European - perhaps the French country side! - and refreshingly modern. The only question we have is how, when, where can we call it ours?

Nostalgic for: When we took our photos on digital cameras. When our phones did not have cameras.
Questions to ask at the dinner table:
If you could invent something to make life more magical, what would it be?
How do you celebrate or honor your spiritual growth?
Who in your life pushes you to grow in the best way possible?
Question to ask yourself this week: What is the hard thing that you know you need to do but are avoiding?
The Founder’s Edit: Products, goods, and everyday luxuries we are adoring.
Have a beautiful week. Until next Sunday.
Sincerely,
The REVUE Team
