Sunday Inspiration: Volume 1.9

All of the inspiration, content, and intentions of the week so that you can arrive the aspirational way.

Sentiment of the week: “We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that death will tremble to take us.” - Charles Bukowski

Here’s what is currently inspiring us: Summer vacation vibes, Marc Jacobs’ Fall 2024 Ready-to-Wear, reading physical books (not kindles), larger than life cacti, a subtle moisture in the air - not humidity, not dew but just July air, moving our bodies for 15 minutes a day, a full body care routine, being off social media, going to open houses on the weekends for pleasure.

What we are consuming this week:

Book: The Collected Stories by Lydia Davis

Photo of the week: Edie Sedgwick and Andy Warhol. The Mod Couple, 1965. Photographed by David McCabe.

Ritual to implement: Light palo santo first thing in the morning and surround your body with its properties.

Place to daydream about: The Parker in Palm Springs: A fantastical Alice in Wonderland for adults completely designed, head to toe, by Jonathan Adler. The lobby is a colorful delight of midcentury accents, Salvador Dali-esque sculptures, notes of bossa nova basking through the walls, a hint of Rio de Janeiro, an absolute nirvana of aesthetic influences. What’s on our wishlist: The Hand Retinol by Nécessaire

Reordering this week: HUME deodorant

Home of the week: The home of Javier Calvo and Javier Amrossi. Architecture by Benjamin Iborra and Raul Hinarejos. Photography by Pablo Zamora. Styling by Ana Rojas. Featured in Architectural Digest Mexico.

Nostalgic for: A world without social media, without highlight reels, without everyone being a certain level of famous. A world that wasn’t seen through the lens of digital. A world with a filtering process was only reliant on your own two eyes and the feelings pulsing through your body. A world where content isn’t a strategy. A world where we create art.

Question to ask yourself this week: How can I release some pressure off of my shoulders? In what way are those pressures imaginary?

Have a beautiful week. Until next Sunday.

Sincerely,

The REVUE Team
