Sunday Inspiration: Volume 1.7
All of the inspiration, content, and intentions of the week so that you can arrive the aspirational way.
Sentiment of the week: “Coffee is real good when you drink it gives you time to think. It's a lot more than just a drink; it's something happening. Not as in hip, but like an event, a place to be, but not like a location, but like somewhere within yourself. It gives you time, but not actual hours or minutes, but a chance to be, like be yourself, and have a second cup.” - Gertrude Stein
Here’s what is currently inspiring us: Writing things down as we think of ideas or actions to take, bird watching, the poetry of Charles Bukowski, black and white two-toned dresses for summer, listening to Suzanne by Leonard Cohen, social media detoxes, Moscot sunglasses, taking cold showers, having a full body care routine, emerging from June gloom, wearing blush.
What we are consuming this week:
Podcast: Law Roach on Keeping Busy After “Retirement” on the Business of Fashion Podcast
Book: You Are a Magnet by Amber Lyons
Article: I Feel Far Away From History by Gabrielle Scout
Photo of the week: Tears, 1932 by Man Ray.
Ritual to implement: Not looking at your phone for the first hour of the day. Leaving it in another room while you sleep. Disconnecting from the demands of others as you create a sanctuary within. A morning without technology to discover who you truly are, what your thoughts are saying, and how to course-correct them towards your alignment.
Place to daydream about: Vermelho: Christian Louboutin’s first hotel in Portugal. An eclectic, luxurious, and cultured new hotel for a tranquil state of mind. To enter into the world of Vermelho, click here.
What’s on our wishlist: Maxine Top in White by CLYQUE
Reordering this week: The GEM Bite for our daily nutrients
Home of the week: Located in Sao Paulo. Architecture by Andrade Morettin Arquitetos Associados. Styling by Colin King. Photography by William Jess Laird. For a full imagery tour of the house, click here.
Nostalgic for: Magazines being at the center of the cultural narrative. Monthly periodicals that were a treat. Inspiration and information that was curated…but that you had to wait for. The waiting made the pages so sweet.
Question to ask yourself this week: What tasks on my to-do list give me energy? How can I go towards those energy-giving projects and amplify them in my life? What tasks on my to-do list drain my energy? How can I, slowly by slowly, delegate them or find better systems for them to exist so that they do not take such a hold of my time?
Have a beautiful week. Until next Sunday.
Sincerely,
The REVUE Team
