Sunday Inspiration: Volume 1.27

All of the inspiration, content, and intentions of the week so that you can arrive the aspirational way.

Sentiment of the week: “Thanks to art, instead of seeing one world only, our own, we see that world multiply itself and we have at our disposal as many worlds as there are original artists, worlds more different one from the other than those which revolve in infinite space, worlds which, centuries after the extinction of the fire from which their light first emanated, whether it is called Rembrandt or Vermeer, send us still each one its special radiance.” ― Marcel Proust

Here’s what is currently inspiring us: The art and brutally poignant process of reimagining yourself, the idea that you are the designer given the opportunity to architect your dream world, lighting palo santo in the mornings as the sun rises, insignificant yet profound daily conversations you have with your loved ones, these pair of jeans, eating in vs. eating out, the anticipation of a chill in the air so that we can wear our favorite sweater, an afternoon meditation session, grounding - no shoes, bare soles of your feet on the earth, feeling beautiful, this collection of short stories, a hot cup of water and lemon, this dress.

What we are consuming this week:

Podcast: Peter Crone, The Mind Architect: Identifying Triggers, Overcoming Limiting Beliefs, Common Characteristics of Successful People, & More - The Dream Bigger Podcast

Brand of the week: Brother Vellies by the tour-de-force Aurora James. This luxury accessory brand is handmade artisanally across the globe. Best known for their shoes, you will find everything from luxury shearling slides to an African camp sandal to a doodled Mexican cowboy boot. Each shoe tells a story - not only of its inspirational origin but of where the shoe will take you in your daily life. A point of view that is uniquely specific to each pair; a point of view that is distinctly fashion-forward while also historically rich. Since launching, designer Aurora James has won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, launched The 15% Pledge, and become the author of Wildflower. To have a closet full of Brother Vellies shoes is to live a luxuriously bold and conscious life.

Artist of the week: Hannah Carrick: “For me, the process of creating and using my hands generates a sense of healing and solitude. Painting and colour is my therapy, my escapism during darker times. I see my works as little windows of sunshine, nostalgia and inspiration.” To view Hannah’s work, please visit Tappan Collective here.

RITUAL

PLEASURE STATE 2

CHERRY 1

Ritual to implement: Taking a moment to respond. Too often, the word “yes” rolls off our tongue when, had we paused and internally checked-in, the word “no” would have been a more appropriate response in line with our alignment. Allowing your body to answer your questions, not your automatic thoughts. Giving yourself the space to consider, reflect, and ponder before answering questions when it comes to your capacity, availability, and energy.

Place to daydream about: The Brecon, a stylish new hotel located in the Swiss Alps. An establishment that exudes generous hospitality, a sense of place, and a design-forward point of view for those who indulge in luxury and interiors. Photography by Michael Sinclair. What’s on our wishlist: Nala Mini Clutch by Cult Gaia

Home of the week: SNL Star Heidi Garner’s Midcentury meets disco home in Kansas City. Tara Davis, of Kansas City–based design-build firm Cicada Company and Brooklyn-based interior designer Madelynn Hudson came together to bring Heidi Garner’s vision to reality. Nostalgic for: The mall as a socializing destination.

Question to ask yourself this week: How can I seek out inspiration this week?

Have a beautiful week. Until next Sunday.

Sincerely,

The REVUE Team
