Sunday Inspiration: Volume 1.26

All of the inspiration, content, and intentions of the week so that you can arrive the aspirational way.

Sentiment of the week: “I'm not telling you to make the world better, because I don't think that progress is necessarily part of the package. I'm just telling you to live in it. Not just to endure it, not just to suffer it, not just to pass through it, but to live in it. To look at it. To try to get the picture. To live recklessly. To take chances. To make your own work and take pride in it. To seize the moment. And if you ask me why you should bother to do that, I could tell you that the grave's a fine and private place, but none I think do there embrace. Nor do they sing there, or write, or argue, or see the tidal bore on the Amazon, or touch their children. And that's what there is to do and get it while you can and good luck at it.” ― Joan Didion

Here’s what is currently inspiring us: Embracing the energy of your future self, chocolate brown manicures, throwing kitten heels on with everything, being proud of yourself, protecting and living within your own energy, Manet’s A Bar at the Folies-Bergère, burgundy everything, mini skirts, overdressing for the sake of getting dressed up, the way this serum feels on our body, fundamentally knowing and understanding that you are magic and your insecurities are only the false projections of your ego, rewatching Pride & Prejudice, pilates always, sending your friends sweet text messages reminding them of your love, adorning yourself with perfume daily, pausing between activities to find empty space within moments.

What we are consuming this week:

Brand of the week: iota is a body care brand that is both whimsical and functional. Built upon the foundation of science, sustainability, and skin health, each one of iota’s products - whether you use their Supermatcha plant-based body lotion that is a retinol alternative or their Supercloud body serum that brightens with a Yuzu peel - are built to give your body a complete nutritional boost. Add in their design forward packaging and you have a body care brand that is chic and scientific (we have to admit that we dream about the design of the pump on the serum bottle). In an abundant world of lotions and serums and creams, iota is the refreshing boost not only from a skin perspective, but from a brand perspective. We would drink their body serum if we could (to give you an idea of how bewitched we are). A staple, a non-negotiable, a must-have: iota.

Artist of the week: Emma Ortiz: In the warmth of natural light, I treat each painting as a diary entry that shares moods of the moment and reflections of the world around me. My practice relies on intuition, trust, and mixing color. Paying close attention to what calls to me, I’m intentional about the way I use oils to paint motifs from nature, and also use imagination as an ever-growing bank of imagery I reference in my work.” To view more of her work, click here.

Ritual to implement: Setting an intention for your day each morning. Something simple and yet poignant. Something inherently expansive and yet perfectly true.

Place to daydream about: Bruma in Guadalupe Valley, Mexico. An architectural masterpiece that organically blends into the vineyard landscape. A true nature meets modern design encapsulation. Luxurious, peaceful, and breathtakingly riveting. To book a stay at Bruma, click here.

Reordering this week: Bloat by Arrae

Home of the week: The house of Alex Mutter-Rottmayer and Austin Carrier, the husbands duo behind Hommeboys Interiors and Haus of Hommeboys. Featured in Architectural Digest. Photography by Bess Friday and Adam Potts. Located in Sonoma.

Nostalgic for: Landlines. Leaving voicemails. Sweet messages to come home to. Delayed messages. The location limitation of it all.

Question to ask yourself this week: What is one habit that I am have been dreaming of implementing but have yet to place into action? How can I implement that habit this week?

Have a beautiful week. Until next Sunday.

Sincerely,

The REVUE Team
